BANJO BOY COFFEE came about after spending long hours on the road with master banjo player and coffee roaster Nick Hornbuckle. I came up with the idea of selling our own brand of coffee on the road at shows. Now here is the culmination of years of thought and finally finding the right roast and roaster to work with.

My partner Nell Robinson loves, and so do I, Celebese coffee from Indonesia. The flavor has nutty or warm spice notes, like cinnamon or cardamom. Hints of black pepper are sometimes found. Its’ sweetness, as with most Indonesian coffees, is closely related to the body of the coffee. The after-taste coats the palate on the finish and is smooth and soft. Overall this roast has deep dark rich and smooth high tones. We offer four different blends to choose from and enjoy!

Deering has partnered with Banjo Boy Coffee to create exciting ground coffee blends, each offering their own fantastic and distinct flavor. In 2021 the Four String and Ukulele Blends have been replaced by our Decaf Blend.

NELL’S CHAI came about after years of enjoying Indian food and, after beginning to eat a vegan diet, loving the variety of Indian spices and dishes that are plant-based. Chai is a delicious and nutritious hot drink, either alone or with an Assam tea or turmeric-ginger tea added.

A unique chai spice blend that includes turmeric and pea protein “milk” or almond milk to add our own touch to the classic chai recipe. You can also sprinkle NELL’S CHAI on salads, fruits, vegetable dishes and even desserts like fudge and ice cream. Each 2 oz jar–makes about 12-15 cups.
